Adaption BI Connect
Structured data access for Business Intelligence
Logistics organizations process enormous amounts of operational data every day. Yet for many companies it remains difficult to turn this data into clear management insights.
Adaption BI Connect makes it possible to use structured data from the Adaption Logistics Cloud Suite directly within your own Business Intelligence environment. Through secure API endpoints you gain access to logistics and financial data, allowing you to build your own dashboards, reports, and analyses using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other data platforms.
This creates full control over your logistics data analysis, management reporting, and KPI monitoring.
During this introduction we discuss your use case, technical requirements, and reporting needs. This quickly provides insight into how BI Connect can contribute to better control over your logistics and financial data.

What is Adaption BI Connect?
Adaption BI Connect provides direct and secure access to structured data from the Adaption Logistics Cloud Suite through dedicated secure API endpoints. The data is available at different levels within the platform and can easily be filtered by period. By using unique identifiers per file (UUIDs), organizations can retrieve detailed information and combine it with other data sources.
With BI Connect, companies can use their data for, among other things:
- Operational insights by combining data from different tables
- Management information on revenue, costs, and margins
- KPI dashboards for logistics processes
- Reports and documents in their own branding, for example PDF reports
Adaption provides the infrastructure and the API endpoints. Customers decide themselves how the data is used within their own data warehouse, reporting environment, or BI platform.
For which applications is BI Connect suitable?
By bringing logistics and financial data together in dashboards, better insight is created into performance and trends within the organization. BI Connect makes it possible to analyze data at different levels, from individual files to organization-wide performance.
Examples of insights organizations can develop include:
- Revenue, costs, and margins per period
- Customer profitability and transport costs
- Delivery performance and lead times
- Workload per department or team
- Trip performance per driver
With these insights, management teams can better steer efficiency, performance, and profitability.
How does Adaption BI Connect work?
BI Connect works through API endpoints that make datasets from the platform available to external systems. The data can be retrieved step by step and enriched with additional information.
A typical data flow looks as follows:
- A request is made for a selected period
- Relevant files are retrieved
- Each file contains a unique UUID
- Detailed data can be requested per UUID
- Transport and warehouse data can be enriched through additional API calls
This architecture allows dashboards to retrieve data flexibly while maintaining the stability of the platform.
Rate limits and refresh capacity
To ensure the stability of the platform, BI Connect applies a clear rate limit. A maximum of twenty requests per hour can be made, with a total of up to two thousand files retrieved, divided across requests of one hundred files at a time.
This setup is specifically designed for management reporting and periodic analyses. In practice, many organizations work with daily or weekly dashboard updates. The architecture of BI Connect aligns well with this, allowing data to be retrieved reliably and efficiently without affecting system performance.
Available data
Through BI Connect, organizations gain access to a wide range of structured data from the platform. This includes operational, logistics, and financial data.
Available datasets include:
- File data
- Transport order information
- Warehouse-related data
- Revenue, cost, and margin data
- Information about who created or modified a file
This data can easily be integrated into existing BI environments, dashboards, or data warehouses.
Who is Adaption BI Connect intended for?
BI Connect is developed for logistics organizations that want to manage their own Business Intelligence environment and maintain maximum control over their data. The solution is especially interesting for companies that work with internal data or BI teams, but also for organizations that collaborate with external BI specialists or data partners.
Instead of a predefined dashboard structure, BI Connect offers a flexible data connection. This allows companies to decide themselves which analyses, reports, and visualizations they build. This makes it possible to create a data model and reporting environment that perfectly aligns with their own processes and strategy.
