Adaption Release
More Efficient Planning and Communication? Discover What’s Coming in the Latest Adaption Releases
At Adaption, we are deeply committed to continuous innovation, ensuring our customers always maintain an edge in a rapidly evolving logistics world. Technology never stands still, and neither does our software. We continuously invest in developing and refining our solutions for warehouse management (WMS), transport planning (TMS), and freight management (FMS). This isn’t just an annual endeavor—we roll out multiple releases each year, all aimed at making processes smarter, more efficient, and more manageable.
Upcoming functionalities
Why multiple releases per year?
We release a new version at least three times a year. This ensures that our customers are always working with the most current, secure, and efficient version of our software. These releases include much more than just technical updates or bug fixes. They are strategic moments when we introduce new functionalities, expand existing modules, and make our systems smarter based on real-world experiences from the field.
Each release is the result of close collaboration with our customers and partners. Their feedback, combined with our knowledge of logistics processes, forms the basis for innovations that truly make a difference on the work floor. Whether it’s better transport planning visibility, faster communication with drivers, or smoother customs handling, our improvements are always aimed at more control, insight, and return on investment.
In this blog, we share three key innovations we’re currently working on for the upcoming release and future releases. We’ll tell you what to expect, why it’s relevant, and how it optimizes your logistics processes.

1. Trip planboard: efficient planning with overview
One of the key innovations we will soon introduce in the 2025.2 release is the Trip Planboard. This new functionality offers a powerful visual tool to group multiple A-B transports into a single clear and efficient trip, also known as groupage. This allows you to make optimal use of vehicle capacity and gives planners instant insight into possible shipment combinations.

What does it entail?
Instead of separate trips per customer, the Trip Planboard allows you to combine multiple transports into one integrated trip. Thanks to smart filtering options by location and country, you can immediately see which orders can logically be grouped.
Key functionalities:
- Visual display of all available A-B transports
- Group into a single composite trip
- Filter options by country, region, and specific locations
- Insight into load volume and working hours per vehicle
- Easy assignment to driver, truck, and trailer
Example: three customers, one trip
Imagine you have three customers in the west of the Netherlands, each with a small shipment ready. One in Rotterdam, one in The Hague, and one in Leiden. Traditional planning would organize three separate trips, each with its own driver and vehicle. That costs time, money, and capacity.
With the Trip Planboard, you instantly see that these orders can be perfectly combined. You plan them as one trip: pickup route in the morning, delivery in the afternoon. You immediately see which vehicle has enough loading space, which driver is available within working hours, and which trailer best suits the type of goods. Within a few clicks, the entire trip is planned, communicated, and assigned. The result? Fewer kilometers, lower costs, and more efficient use of your fleet, without compromising service quality.
Why is this valuable?
For the transport planner, the Trip Planboard offers overview, speed, and control. No more manual calculations or separate lists—everything is visible at a glance and directly manageable. Companies benefit from lower costs thanks to more efficiently planned trips and better utilization of equipment and staff. For customers, this means faster deliveries and higher reliability.
2. Driver app: for clear communication between driver and planner
At Adaption, we know that clear and timely communication is essential in the transport process. That’s why we’re introducing a completely new Driver App within the 2025.2 release. This functionality is specifically designed for drivers and gives them exactly the information they need, at the right time, without distractions. The result: a streamlined process from order to execution.

What does the Driver App do?
The Driver App shows the driver one task at a time, the next trip he or she must perform. Per task, the following is clear:
- Where the driver needs to go
- What needs to be loaded or unloaded
- What time the action is scheduled
- Any additional instructions or documents
Because the information is presented in a structured and task-focused way, the driver can fully concentrate on execution. Meanwhile, the planner stays updated on progress without needing additional communication.
Main benefits:
- Clarity for drivers: only one active task at a time
- Real-time updates from the app at each completed step
- Seamless integration with TMS planning
- Insight into location, times, and cargo information
- Ability to upload documents, photos, or signatures
This new app within our logistics software strengthens the collaboration between office and road. Less noise, more clarity.
Example: simplicity first, efficiency as a result
Imagine a driver starts his day and opens the Adaption Driver App. The first task immediately appears: “Pickup at DC Venlo at 08:00 – 12 pallets for delivery in Antwerp.” All details (address, loading reference, contact person) are available in one clear screen.
Once this task is completed and confirmed in the app, the next automatically appears: “Delivery at customer X – 10:30 – 5 pallets.” The driver doesn’t need to search or call. And the planner? They immediately see in the TMS that the trip is on schedule. Any delays, comments, or deviations are communicated back through the app. With the introduction of this app, a direct digital line is created between driver and planning, making the transport process more efficient, transparent, and reliable.
3. Direct integration with the Dutch customs
In international logistics, a flawless and efficient customs process is crucial. Delays, missing documents, or incorrect data can lead to fines, delays, or even blockades. That’s why at Adaption, we’re working on a direct, automated integration with the Dutch customs. This new functionality enables full digital and integrated handling of customs formalities, directly from our software environment. Currently, this functionality is still in the research and development phase and will be available in a later release (early 2026).
What does it entail?
Through this integration, users can automatically submit customs documents to the Dutch customs, without external systems or manual uploads. Think of export declarations (AGS), transit procedures, or other notifications that need to be submitted through the customs portal.
Main benefits:
- Automatic submission of customs documents based on existing transport or order data
- Real-time feedback on status, notifications, and approvals from customs
- Error reduction through less manual data entry
- Time savings as shipments can be cleared faster
- Compliance with the latest requirements on export control, safety, and traceability

Because the integration is fully embedded in our TMS and FMS environment, you no longer need to switch between systems or enter data twice. Everything runs through one platform, giving you full control over your logistics and administrative processes.
Example: export shipment without waiting time
Imagine you have a full truck ready with goods for customers in Germany and Austria. Normally, you’d manually create export documents, upload them via a separate customs portal, and then wait for approval—often resulting in delays.
With the new customs integration in Adaption, that process changes drastically. As soon as the transport order is created, the system automatically generates the required export declaration. It is submitted directly to customs through the integration. Within minutes, you receive confirmation of acceptance or additional instructions, visible in your dashboard.
The driver gets a green light without delay, the customer receives the goods faster, and you always have visibility of the shipment status—without extra work or risk of errors. The result? Faster lead times, lower error margins, and full control over your customs processes, all from one integrated system.
Conclusion
Everything seamlessly connects to WMS, TMS, and FMS
What all our innovations have in common is that they are fully integrated with our existing software solutions:
- WMS (warehouse management system): for smart warehouse processes
- TMS (transport management system): for advanced transport planning
- FMS (freight management system): for full control over shipments and freight costs
Whether you’re already working with one of these modules or considering starting with Adaption, our software grows with your organization. The new features in this release strengthen the connection between planning, execution, and administration.

Continuing to build smart logistics together
Developments at Adaption never stand still. Every release is the result of intensive collaboration with our customers and continuous attention to what’s happening in the logistics sector. By listening to users, responding to market needs, and proactively innovating, we ensure that our software always adds value in practice.
The upcoming release with the Trip Planboard, integration with the Dutch customs, and the new Driver App is a great example. With these innovations, you make your processes smarter, more transparent, and more manageable—from order to execution.
